If you think you can’t have fun meetings with a handful of Toastmasters, you should come to BANGSAR TM Club!

If you think Advanced Toastmasters don’t play small roles, you should come to BANGSAR TM Club!

If you want to meet FULSOME (word-of-the-day) Toastmasters, you should come to BANGSAR TM Club!

We started on time!
IPP, Muhendaran, ATMS, acting as the ASA for the evening called the meeting to order and led us all in reciting the Toastmasters Promise!

After the round of introduction and welcoming guests and members, the President took over as TME! With full support from the members the whole evening breezed through swiftly!

Another reason to come to BANGSAR TM Club is to listen to new members inspire you! Sham Sunder, a 4-months-old-member, shared his thoughts / reflections on life! He is quite knowledgeable on the Hindu scriptures like The Gita, and his ready references made his talk very enlightening!

Veteran, Ivan Fong, CTM, made use of Song Titles to challenge the Table Topics Speakers, into sharing their experiences / feelings. Muhendaran, ATMS, provided the feedback as the Table Topics evaluator.

Chandran, CTM, made humour a laughing matter! He has at last found his place, and I believe we might crown him as the resident humorist!

After the break, the assignment speakers gave us yet another reason as to why you should come to BANGSAR TM Club!

Sham Sunder delivered his speech titled “Getting the Right Focus on Life”! While Shanmugam's speech was titled “The Funeral”! You might be wondering how “The Funeral” could be entertaining! Hearing is believing! You should have been there!

The General Evaluator, Ganapathy, ATMS, with his team of evaluators provided the necessary feedback, which is the key to acquiring communication skills! Needless to say, he had many reasons as to why you should come to BANGSAR TM Club!

The meeting concluded with Shanmugam adjudged as the Best Table Topics Speaker!

Was the meeting a success? I must say YES! It was a good reason for our guest, Lee Chor Wah, to signup as a member! That speaks for itself, as to why you should come to BANGSAR TM Club!

Dear Readers, send us an email, so that we can add you to our guest list and invite you to our meetings... Come and see for yourself as to why you should come to BANGSAR TM Club!

Bangsar Toastmasters Club

Installation Dinner

On the 30th of September, Bangsar Toastmasters Club brought Hawaii to town, specifically to Naga’s Restaurant, Brickfields, in conjunction with the installation of our club officers.

It was a simple but enjoyable event, with lots of food, fun and fellowship – a typical Bangsar Toastmasters Club event. We had lots of invited guests, apart from our club members.

The fun started the moment you arrived – what could be more fun than receiving door gifts and being garlanded Hawaiian style and being entertained. With our dinner, we had Angela, a guest, serenading us with a couple of songs, followed by lucky draws – yes, more gifts (at Bangsar TMC we never stop giving).

The MCs for the night were Suriakumar and Renuka, both members of the club and they did a commendable job, making sure the event went smoothly.

The Chairperson, Shandini Dewi, gave her opening speech, followed immediately afterwards by the Installation ceremony. The club officers for the new term 2006/2207 were installed by the Area Governor, Chong Huey Yee. The officers installed were Lakhmichand (President & VP Public Relations), Ivan Fong (VP Education), Shandini Dewi (VP Membership), Ranjit Singh (Treasurer), Shanmugam (Secretary) and Letchuman (Sergeant-At-Arms). We wish them all great success in their respective roles.

The President then gave his speech and after that, it was games and more fun.

We had the Icebreaker session conducted by Suriakumar. This was followed by a Humour session, presented by the ever funny Stephen Fernando. More lucky draws, then another game called Description, conducted by Ranjit. Lucky draws again, followed by Charades conducted by Chandran, and another lucky draw.

The best dressed male and female were then garlanded – they were Kumar, our new club member and Angelina, a guest.

All in all, the event was a great success. Everyone had fun, there were lots of food and everyone took back at least one gift. What else can you ask for – more such events, of course.

Congratulations to the committee for making this event a success – they are Shandini Dewi, Chandran, Shanmugam, Ranjit and Renuka.
