Meeting Review (27th May, 2007)

The meeting on 29th May 2007 was an extra-ordinary meeting as it took place on a 5th Tuesday, it being a practice of Bangsar Toastmasters Club to utilize the 5th Tuesday of a month, if any, to have a meeting.

What a turn-out we had for the meeting! I can’t help but to mention it. We had a total of 7 guests. Suria Kumar did a good job in bringing in the guests. The Club thanks you, Suria Kumar, for that. In total the attendance for the meeting was 19, of which 12 were clubs members.

Of the 7 guests, 4 were Toastmasters from Help University College.

We had a very interesting agenda for the meeting, prepared by our VPE, with 3 good speeches delivered by our members.

The first speech was by our latest addition to the club, Loke Kah Sing who delivered his first speech (the first step in his long Toastmasters journey), titled "Me & Myself".

Second was by Rema Paul (a veteran in Toastmasters) titled “Ageless” from the Humorously Speaking Manual.

The 3rd speech was delivered by Shanmugam from the Storytelling manual, titled “What happens next”. All the speakers did very well and received thorough and constructive evaluations.

Evaluators: Ivan Fong, Lourdes and Lucky.

Awards: there was a stiff competition!
Awards for the day are:

Best Table Topics Speaker: Suria Kumar

Best Speaker: Rema Paul

Best Evalautor: Lourdes

The table topics session for the day is worthy of a special mention. It was conducted by Parimala. The members and guests had a crash course in English literature, with interesting quotes.

The assigned role players played their roles very well and ensured that the meeting ran smoothly and above all it benefited all who attended it.
